Lincoln Project Leaders Refuse to Criticize Biden on Afghanistan

WASHINGTON — Mike Davis, founder and president of Unsilenced Majority, released the following statement on the refusal of Lincoln Project leaders Rick Wilson and Stuart Stevens to criticize President Biden and his botched withdrawal from Afghanistan.

“Pro-war Lincoln Project leaders Rick Wilson and Stuart Stevens never hesitated to weigh in on Afghanistan policy during the past two presidencies (Wilson 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12; Stevens 1,2,3,4,5,6,7). For the last decade, they were harsh critics of plans to withdraw from the endless war in Afghanistan. While they’ve found time to tweet about the chaos in Afghanistan, they refuse to criticize President Biden’s decision-making. Wilson and Stevens were vicious in their criticisms of Obama’s Biden-led Afghanistan policy and Trump’s withdrawal plans. They warned of a ‘helicopters on the roof’ ending and said withdrawing would lead to ‘slaughter’ that would ‘stain us forever.’ In their endorsement of Biden, the Lincoln Project leaders claimed, ‘Biden is not an international embarrassment’ and they ‘have faith that Biden will surround himself by advisers of competence.’ Apparently, their judgment is as terrible as their character.

“Why won’t they weigh in now as the Taliban takes over the country, 13 men and women of the United States military made the ultimate sacrifice, at least 18 more were injured, President Biden disrespected Gold Star families, Afghani women fear for their lives, and Americans and our allies remain stranded? Because they need to keep the grift going and can’t anger their liberal donor base by criticizing Biden. Even the left-wing media has enough spine to recognize the utter failure of Biden’s withdrawal management. These grifters are willing to sell out American citizens and our allies in Afghanistan just to keep their con afloat. They refuse to level any criticism of Biden now that we are living the very reality about which they claimed to be worried. When will Rick Wilson and Stuart Stevens come out of hiding and be honest about Biden’s catastrophic handling of Afghanistan? Perhaps if they are offered enough money, they’ll finally grow a backbone. Or maybe it’s simply impossible to break that common bond of the Lincoln Project and the Taliban harboring pedophiles within their ranks?”
