Companies Should Not Be Intimidated by Leftists After Texas Abortion Law

WASHINGTON – Unsilenced Majority founder and president Mike Davis issued the following statement on the leftist intimidation campaign of corporations who in the past indirectly donated to sponsors of the recent Texas abortion legislation:

“Attacking corporations for the unrelated actions of democratically elected officials is not only unfair and nonsensical, it’s outrageous. These companies, which employ hundreds of thousands of hard-working Americans, had no insight into this legislation, and many have even said they disagree with it. Should every donor to Andrew Cuomo be shamed as an aider and abettor of workplace sexual harassment? Should Joe Biden’s donors be held as complicit in leaving Americans stranded in Afghanistan? Of course not, but that is the logical end to this cheap stunt.

“Corporations should not give into leftist bullying and intimidation campaigns. Appeasing the far left is impossible, and any attempt to do so will backfire. As with any group of extremists, if you give an inch, they take a mile. The best response to a mob is to simply ignore them and not give them any attention or power by engaging them.

“Companies that give into activist threats and mob tactics should understand that they will lose customers, supporters, and allies on the other side of the aisle. The last time history witnessed such a fusion between ideologues and corporations was during the height of European fascism. Cancel culture damages our society as a nation and should have no legitimate place in our political dialogue. Democratic politicians, activists, and corporations that back these dishonest tactics should be warned: this is a road we do not want to go down. Once this Pandora’s box is opened, there will be no turning back. This must stop now.”
