Unsilenced Majority Celebrates Columbus Day

October 11, 2021

Washington —Mike Davis, Founder and President of Unsilenced Majority, issued the following statement on today’s celebration of a great American holiday, Columbus Day:

“Today, Americans celebrate Columbus Day, as we have since it became an official federal holiday many decades ago. It’s a day that leads us to reflect on the courageous sacrifices that people like Christopher Columbus made to discover the land we now call home, not to mention a day on which many Italian-Americans celebrate their heritage.

“The woke left would like to rewrite our very history and erase our heritage. Their insistence that we should somehow be ashamed of our ancestors of hundreds of years ago for not abiding by the left’s modern standards of right and wrong is anti-historical, un-American, and completely insufferable. Columbus should be held in high esteem in any society that appreciates advancement, progress, and diversity.

“Christopher Columbus made significant contributions to our great land and western society as we know it, and to minimize him, as the left would love to do, is to minimize a powerful moment of achievement in not only American history, but global history. Columbus was the first of many that brought European culture, society, and progress to the Americas.

“We choose to remember Christopher Columbus for the sacrifices he made to come to America and launch the creation of a new society. Happy Columbus Day to all Americans.”
